In 2024, Francis Ford Coppola spent $120 million dollars and most of his reputation points on his self-funded, self-everything feature film, Megalopolis. In 2026, 14 editors and video artists tore it down and rebuilt it into Megalopolis Restructured, a feature-length wave/remix that reinterprets and recontextualizes the film into what could have been.
I conceived and captained the project, invited 13 other editors whose work and work ethic I greatly admire, and assigned each one a randomly generated timecode range from the original film. They each then transformed their segment into whatever they felt it should be, from music video style segs to psychedelic meditations on mortality. All the segs were then stitched together with an overture and credits, and became Megalopolis Restructured.
