Help The Morning News find new idioms to refresh the cultural vocabulary. "Idioms and proverbs—especially idioms—are crutches: recycled phrases that have outlived their value, only we’re too lazy to replace them. And they’re everywhere... The poster for this year's Art Director's Club show is, well, bad. Uninspiring. Executed with superb attention to mediocrity. But it's better than last year's racist and badly drawn specimen. This is why I don't care about awards or shows or awards shows.

As clients become more educated in the methods and language of design (thanks partly to the efforts of the AIGA), designers need to be prepared to defend every aspect of their work as its function and integrity is questioned. It's up to clients educate themselves well enough to find good designers and give them creative freedom and excellent guidance.
